How can an album’s attitude become a visual language of its own?

A self-initiated visual exploration inspired by Talk That Talk. I developed an alternative visual world around the album, translating its confidence and energy into artwork that balances control with chaos.

Overview

Concept

A self-initiated visual exploration inspired by Talk That Talk. I developed an alternative visual world around the album, translating its confidence and energy into artwork that balances control with chaos.

Challenge

Concept

I explored the tension between confidence and imperfection. A hand-drawn portrait forms the centre of the identity, layered with bold colour, handwritten typography and raw graphic elements to create something expressive without becoming chaotic.

Concept

System

The visual language combines clean vector forms with halftones, scratches, scribbles and handwritten type. These elements repeat across the album artwork, vinyl details and campaign pieces, creating a system that can shift in composition while remaining recognisable.

System

Outcome

A visual system that shows sustainability can feel active rather than predictable, and one concept that stretches across six expressions without losing itself.
